About the Department

  The college was established on 7th April, 2007 through a government a course offered in Arts stream with History, Economics& Tourism and travel management combination was introduced in 2022 with an intake of 30 students to enrich the knowledge of Tourism and travel management, history & economics to face the competition sprits in the present employment market and need.

The college has further started functioning one additional conventional courses     B.A.Honours (History as major and Tourism and Travel management as  minor subject) with effect from the academic year 2023.

   The Dept. has the freedom in planning and organizing, curricular and co-curricular activities like Seminars, Assignments, Quiz, Study Projects, Debates, Group Discussions, ICT based teaching, Field Trips, Tours, Guest Lectures and Extension Activities etc.

                The Dept. also going to adopting new teaching methods and techniques from time to time to improve their student skills.

                To improve their performance at university examination we are conducting and analysing the student performance with continuous internal assessments.

                Tourism is one of the world’s fastest growing industries as well as the major source of foreign exchange earnings and employment for many developing                     countries.

· Tourism is vital to the wellbeing of many countries, because of the income generated by the consumption of goods and services by tourists, the taxes levied on businesses in the tourism industry and the opportunity for employment and economic advancement by working in the industry.

· The programs are designed to inculcate students with knowledge and skills required by the tourism and travel industry.

· The Department focuses on studies and practices of managing tourism and travel related activities.

· It offers students a comprehensive understanding of the tourism industry, covering areas such as event management, destination management, hospitality, financial accounting, human resource management, travel services, tourism planning, etc. as well as providing opportunities for exposures into organizations, companies, stakeholders involved in providing products and services in this field with the aim to prepare students for a career, qualities and etiquettes demanded by the tourism industry.
